The Opportunity:



  • Head of IT Operations for EirGrid's Chief Transformation & Technology Office, reporting directly to the Chief Transformation & Technology Officer.

  • Leading a high-performing team to deliver strategic objectives, creating an engaged and motivated workforce, and exemplifying senior leadership values and behaviors.

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to identify strategic opportunities, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining crisis management, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.



About the Role:



  • Relevant degree in Information Technology or a related field (MBA preferred).

  • Seasoned IT leader with deep expertise in operations and maintenance of 24/7 mission-critical applications and tools in the utility industry.

  • Experience in leading professional working relationships, managing maintenance contract delivery, and SLAs, and managing organizational change and transformation.

  • Deep expertise in business continuity and crisis management processes for mission-critical business systems and tools.

  • Strong strategic thinking and vision, with the ability to understand and translate business objectives into actionable outcomes.

  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to lead, inspire, and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals through organizational change and transformation.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, demonstrate resilience, and be comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity.

  • Strong leader in managing budgeting, funding requirements, financial management, and identifying and mitigating risks.

  • Experience working in government, public sector, or regulated industries is advantageous.

  • Strong analytical skills to align programs with organizational goals and government priorities.
