Job Description

Head of Product & Strategy Dunnes Stores Group is the leading enterprise retailer in Grocery & Fashion in Ireland, renowned for our innovative store experience and broad dynamic customer offerings. As part of the development of a new digital division, we are now hiring for a seasoned Head of Product & Strategy to join the business at a pivotal time to support the growth and development of our product management function across the group. Reporting directly to our Chief Digital Officer, this role will have the opportunity to be front and center in helping to shape and drive our digital transformation strategy, touching all corners of the business. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership and Vision: Help craft and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for product development and market positioning. Evaluate and adapt our various business units and channels to align with evolving market dynamics and company objectives. Drive strategic initiatives to explore new market opportunities and enhance competitive advantage. Team Management and Organizational Development: Build and lead a team of 5 product managers and supporting business analysts. Instill a culture of strategic thinking and continuous improvement. Foster the development and professional growth of the product management team to establish a center of excellence in product and strategy. Product Portfolio Management: Manage the strategic alignment of the product portfolio with business goals. Oversee product lifecycle management from strategic planning to tactical activities.. Collaborate with CDO & CTr.O to meet the business delivery timelines while maintaining a clear product roadmap Market Analysis and Competitive Strategy: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions. Identify trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies to position the company as a market leader. Develop strategies for market entry, growth, and expansion. Strategic Business Case Development: Develop business cases focusing on strategic objectives, long-term ROI, and market impact. Implement a framework for evaluating the strategic impact and financial viability of new product initiatives. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track product performance, customer satisfaction, and success across the portfolio of initiatives. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Engage with senior executives, board members, and external partners to align on strategic objectives and product vision. Communicate strategic plans and product roadmaps to stakeholders at all levels. Qualifications: Extensive experience in product management and strategic planning. Experience in the grocery, fashion retail or online retail sectors a bonus. Experience of managing and implementing agile methodology, lean business practices, UX/UI design principles and strong technical insight to make informed decisions. Demonstrated leadership in developing and executing strategy in large complex organizations. Proficient in strategic analysis, market research, and competitive intelligence. Strong financial acumen and experience in developing and interrogating business cases through a strategic lens. Excellent communication skills with ability to simplify and convey complex ideas, negotiate with stakeholders, and build strong cross functional relationships. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is highly preferred.
