Job Title: Head of Regulatory and Trade AffairsReports to: Director of Corporate AffairsLocation: DublinCompany BackgroundOrnua is an Irish dairy co-operative that markets and sells dairy products on behalf of its Members, Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. Ornua is Ireland’s largest exporter of Irish dairy products and has annualised sales of €3.4 billion. Headquartered in Dublin, Ornua has a strong global team of 2,900 employees, operating from 10 business units worldwide, including 13 production facilities.Ornua’s core purpose is to build profitable routes to market for Irish dairy products. The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients.Dynamic WorkingOrnua has a Dynamic Working policy in place which facilitates flexible hours and hybrid working. This role will require some travel, primarily domestically and in Europe.Why this role is valuableOrnua is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to join our team as the Head of Regulatory and Trade Affairs. This role is pivotal for Ornua. The successful candidate will oversee Ornua’s Regulatory and Trade Compliance team, who are responsible for monitoring, recording and advising on key dairy trade regulatory and related issues, primarily in Ornua’s core and strategic markets.Key focus areas include dairy exporting, customs compliance, Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) issues, trade agreements, placing product on the market, food law, labelling, packaging, ESG/sustainability programs and schemes.Key Areas of Responsibility:Oversee, advise and support the Regulatory and Trade Compliance team on all regulatory aspects of the export of dairy and agri-food products.Ensure regulatory compliance for placing product on the market.Manage labelling and marketing claims.Monitor food contact material/packaging legislation.Responsible for horizon scanning and dairy-related regulatory monitoring.Implement and operate a best-in-class regulatory issues management system.Manage contributions to Ornua’s Information Portal and trade reports.Engage with national and EU authorities on regulatory compliance issues.Manage regulatory and compliance risk.Participate in Trade Associations and Industry bodies.Provide guidance to group business functions on regulatory matters.Play a key function in business continuity and crisis management programmes.Minimum Requirements:Third level regulatory or related qualification or experience.Business acumen and experience in the food/dairy industry.Experience in implementing issues management systems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Good people, time management and organisational skills.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.Competencies for the role:Expertise: Applies effective professional skill, analysis, problem solving, decision making, prioritising, planning, and reviewing.Integrity: Defines, role models and maintains inclusive, diverse, ethical standards.Working Together: Promotes and leads cross-functional working.Communicative: Achieves an honest and constructive impact on the audience.CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS - Thursday 26th September, 2024 #J-18808-Ljbffr
