The Head of Reward and Recognition - People and Sustainability (P&S), will be responsible for shaping and leading the Vhi reward strategy.
The Head of Reward and Recognition will work closely with the Chief People & Sustainability Officer and in partnership with the People and Sustainability Leadership Team, to deliver added value services, policy development and governance in the areas of compensation, benefits and pension programmes.
The Head of Reward and Recognition is a high impact role and it is an exciting time to join our People and Sustainability team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development, design and implementation of a new Career and Reward Framework (CRF) and will act as a key stakeholder in the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP)

Role Purpose
Strategic leadership & change
  • Working with Group People & Sustainability Officer and People & Sustainability Leadership Team to set strategic priorities, inputting into the management and delivery of a People and Sustainability function;
  • Act as a key 'People' stakeholder to drive the implementation of a new ERP system on behalf of the Group People & Sustainability function, in collaboration with Group Finance and other colleagues as the system is developed and operationalised;
  • Lead and implement a refreshed and targeted reward strategy and system, which is reflective of our culture, position on the market and fosters a robust performance management culture. This will include : developing the change and communication plan, salary benchmarking clearly aligned to career pathways and job architecture, pension and benefits review, and annual compensation cycle;
  • Collaborate with other COE's and business stakeholders to drive development of talent acquisition and retention as a strategic priority;
  • Collaborate with the Group People and Sustainability Officer to support the senior executive portfolio, ensuring total rewards align with talent strategy and are in line with senior remuneration policy.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing expert advice and guidance in all matters related to compensation and benefits, making recommendations to leadership and P&S regarding plans that require review to drive efficiency and cost effectiveness where appropriate;
  • Governance
  • Keep up to date and interpret new legal, regulatory, compliance and market developments with respect to Reward and Pensions, making recommendations where plans or policies may need review e.g Gender pay, IORPS, auto-enrolment;
  • Prepare and present high quality reward related papers and presentations suitable for senior leadership and governance committees;
  • Ensure compliance with reward regulation and governance in line with relevant frameworks - including documenting of policies and procedures, system configuration and testing;
  • Provide leadership and direction oninternal and external audits and 2ndsign off on data for Financial Statements and Annual Reporting.
Operational
  • Drive continuous improvement - identifying and implementing process initiatives to streamline activities, remove duplication and bring synergies and efficiencies to the People and Sustainability function;
  • Develop and deliver people analytics to identify trends and deliver solutions;
  • Own the communication & implementation plan of all compensation benefit programs, policies and procedures;
Teamwork
  • Collaborate on the development of employee communications promoting our Colleague Value Proposition
  • Lead and manage ad hoc projects as assigned by the Group People and Sustainability Officer
  • Act as an ambassador for the Vhi Values in practice - provide mentorship and oversight to the wider P&S Team, collaborate with colleagues within other COEs to ensure joined up HR delivery.
  • Lead and develop team, providing coaching, developmental feedback and maintaining high levels of engagement


Education & Experience
  • Minimum5 years' experience in a Senior Reward position
  • Minimum 10 years HR experience in a mid to senior level role within Reward or another HR specialism
  • CIPD qualified.
  • Third level degree in Human Resources, Finance, or business-related discipline.

Skills and Abilities
Technical:
  • Proven total reward expertise encompassing strategic design formulation through to operational execution and embedding within the business;
  • Strong numerical, verbal, and writtencommunication skills;
  • Experience in managing outsourced providers including pensions, benefit, and payroll;
  • Thorough understanding of Irish employment legislation and awareness of HR best practice;
  • Experience using HR management systems;
  • Demonstrable responsiveness in design and implementation of compensation and benefits structures in line with emerging legislation;
Interpersonal:
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic and drive, is agile and is strong at working with urgency under pressure to a high standard in a dynamic business;
  • Be able to demonstrate creative and innovative approaches to enhancing processes and ways of working;
  • Ensure a collegial, positive, and professional culture among the teamand ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
