Job Description

Seeking a seasoned Supply Chain professional to lead strategic initiatives and drive business growth in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

We are working with a leading manufacturing company in Galway to recruit a Head of Supply Chain. This leadership role will oversee purchasing, sourcing, logistics, production planning, and customer fulfilment strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in sourcing and supplier management, as well as excellent leadership and team management skills.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing supply chain strategies aligned with business goals
  • Leading key supply chain functions, including demand planning, purchasing, sourcing, production planning, and logistics
  • Championing ERP implementation and ensuring effective planning and purchasing of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies
  • Forecasting demand and planning inventory levels to meet company needs
  • Managing end-to-end inventory management from receipt to raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
  • Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring accurate tracking, implementing inventory management practices to minimize waste and avoid stockouts
  • Managing and maintaining strategic vendor partnerships
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery
  • Identifying cost savings and efficiencies across the supply base and developing value improvement plans
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and corporate social responsibility policies
  • Identifying potential risks in the supply chain and developing mitigation strategies
  • Ensuring business continuity plans are in place for supply chain disruptions
  • Effectively managing warehouse operations and inbound/outbound logistics
  • Optimizing logistics to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Leading the Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SI&OP) process
  • Providing training, mentorship, and support to team members
  • Collaborating effectively with other key functions, including Manufacturing Operations, Finance, Sales, R&D, and external partners
  • Developing and managing the supply chain budget
  • Setting KPIs for supply chain operations, analyzing performance data, and driving continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • University degree in Business or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in supply chain roles
  • Significant experience in strategic sourcing and supplier management
  • Excellent leadership, influencing, and organizational skills
  • Team player with strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and lead a diverse supply chain team
