This is a unique opportunity to lead the global tax function for a dynamic company with entities worldwide. You'll play a critical role in shaping the tax strategy, optimising global tax positions, and supporting the business as it expands its international footprint. Key Responsibilities: As the Head of Tax, you will take ownership of the tax function and drive strategic tax planning and compliance for the firm's global operations. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and implementing the global tax strategy to optimise the companys tax position across multiple jurisdictions while ensuring full compliance with local and international tax laws. Overseeing all corporate tax, VAT, and indirect tax compliance, including reviewing and approving tax returns, filings, and disclosures for all entities. Providing strategic tax advice on international tax matters, cross-border transactions, and business expansions, including transfer pricing, withholding taxes, and permanent establishment issues. Managing the tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other significant transactions, including due diligence and integration planning. Leading and coordinating tax audits and investigations, managing relationships with tax authorities globally, and resolving complex tax disputes. Advising senior leadership on tax risks, opportunities, and legislative changes that could impact the business, ensuring proactive management of tax exposures. Conducting ongoing tax research and analysis to support strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives. Working closely with finance, legal, HR, and other departments to ensure alignment on tax policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Managing global mobility tax issues, including overseeing tax planning and compliance for employees on international assignments. Mentoring and developing the in-house tax team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing. Driving improvements in tax processes, reporting systems, and controls to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across all global entities. Representing the company in industry groups, forums, and conferences to stay ahead of emerging tax trends and developments. Essential Criteria: A professional tax or accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent). Minimum of 10 years experience in a senior tax role, ideally within a multinational environment or a leading accountancy practice. Deep technical knowledge of international tax principles, corporate tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes. Proven track record in tax strategy development, cross-border tax planning, and managing tax compliance for global entities. Strong leadership and people management skills with experience leading and developing high-performing teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Willingness to travel internationally as required.
