My client, a global leader in transport infrastructure, is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Adviser to join their team in Galway. The successful candidate will report to the Group Health & Safety Manager and work closely with contracting teams, subcontractors, and site managers to maintain high safety standards in line with legal requirements and company policies. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety programs to ensure compliance with government regulations and company standards. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and behavioral safety through regular training sessions, including toolbox talks, induction training, and annual safety presentations. Conduct site audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring the implementation of corrective actions. Lead accident investigations, root cause analyses, and reporting to the Health & Safety Authority as required by law. Manage and support the implementation of Safe T Cert and ISO 45001 management systems across various projects. Liaise with subcontractors and project teams to ensure adherence to safety documentation and procedures. Prepare and deliver regular health and safety reports, including audit schedules, performance data, and management review packages. Manage the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Program and ensure compliance at all sites. Qualifications & Experience: Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction, or Engineering. 3+ years' experience in health and safety within the manufacturing, quarrying, construction, or road maintenance industries. Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001, Safe T Cert, and relevant Irish safety regulations (SHWWA 2005). Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organisation. Proven experience in auditing, risk assessments, and safety performance monitoring.
