About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team for a high-profile data centre project. This role is crucial to ensuring that all construction, commissioning, and operational activities comply with local and international health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety, particularly within construction (Electrical) and high-tech environments. Key Responsibilities: Health & Safety Compliance: Develop, implement, record and maintain all health and safety documentation that comply with client, local and Irish regulations, as well as company standards. Risk Management: Conduct detailed risk assessments for all phases of the data centre project, identifying potential hazards and implementing mitigation strategies. Safety Training & Education: Organize and lead safety training programs for all project personnel, including site workers, engineers, and management. Ensure that all staff are knowledgeable of safety protocols and procedures. Maintain records of all on site and ensure notification of same in advance to individuals. Incident Management: Lead investigations into any incidents, accidents, or near misses, ensuring that root causes are identified, and corrective actions are implemented. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all safety-related incidents. Site Inspections & Audits: Regularly inspect the construction site and other project areas to ensure compliance with safety standards. Conduct routine safety audits and prepare reports for the project management team. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans specific to the data centre environment. Ensure all staff are trained in emergency procedures and that all necessary emergency equipment is available and functional. Contractor Management: Ensure that all Pod-Trak and our subcontractors comply with the project's health and safety requirements. Conduct safety orientations for new contractors and regularly monitor their safety performance. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare detailed safety reports. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all safety activities, including audits, training records, and incident reports. Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest developments in health and safety regulations and best practices, particularly those related to data centre environments. Proactively suggest improvements to current safety procedures. Qualifications: Education: Minimum NEBOSH General & Construction however, Bachelors degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar health and safety role, preferably within the construction industry or data centre projects. Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety certifications are highly desirable. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations, risk management, and incident investigation procedures. Experience with data centre safety requirements is a strong plus. Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software. Manual Handling Instructor, Abrasive Wheels Instructor and Working at Heights Instructor would be advantageous Personal Attributes: A proactive approach to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to influence and enforce safety culture at all levels of the organization.
