SUMMARY OF ROLE: We are currently recruiting for an Health & Safety Officer for our Client, a well-known buildings materials producer, based in Dunboyne, Co. Meath. This position reports directly to the Assistant Health & Safety Manager. The successful candidate will proactively assist in the management of health, safety, and welfare to ensure statutory compliance and best safe working practices at current site locations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with the H&S assistant manager to review and update company Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, Health & Safety policies, and Safety Statement for relevant locations; Assist in the completion of plant inspections and audits; Support in investigating, recording and reporting of accidents, incidents, and near-misses promptly; Assist Health & Safety Assistant Manager and Supervisors with training needs e.g., Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheel, Plant Operators training, etc; Identify new and on-going safety related training requirements; Monitor legislative updates and ensure necessary changes are implemented; ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Basic experience working in a health & safety or a role which involved health & safety or a trade or construction background; Willingness to gain a third level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety is essential. Member of IOSH or equivalent would be ideal; Previous experience in the Construction Industry and a manufacturing organisation is desirable; Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation; Instructor in any of Manual Handling, Working at Height and/or Abrasive wheels advantageous; Full clean drivers license; Good people & presentation skills; Excellent PC Skills: MS Office, Excel; SALARY: €35,000 to €40,000 per annum.
