Job Description: Job Title Health & Safety officer. Athlone basedCivil Engineering organisation, are seeking aHealth & safety officerwith industry experience and who is ready to help our rapid expansion into renewable energy projects. Des Nally has taken part in some of Irelands largest solar projects including Irelands largest solar farm in Ballymacarney Co Meath. Des Nally Developments Ltd is in business now over 30 years, over the last 30 years Des Nally developments has performed high profile jobs for some of Irelands top organisations such as, ESB, Kirby Engineering, Duggan Brothers, Suir Engineering, Ericson's & Department of Defence. Main Responsibilities: The specific duties will depend on your level of experience, but here is an overview of the key responsibilities: Collaborate with Site Management and Company Directors to ensure that Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) objectives are consistently met or surpassed. Conduct safety inspections and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) from subcontractors for various tasks. Regularly update and review the companys Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, and Safety Statement. Deliver safety induction training for new staff on-site and maintain the site diary. Promptly investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near-misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Identify training needs, ensuring mandatory training is reviewed and completed on time. Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all individuals on-site. Review subcontractors Safety Statements and monitor their compliance with safety regulations. Provide relevant accident and incident data for insurance purposes. Attend and actively contribute to regular Health & Safety meetings. Requirements: Degree in Health & Safety or a related field. Passionate about EHS practices. Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude. Ability to influence and guide people effectively. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Health & Safety within a construction environment in Ireland.
