Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on health and safety within the business, keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry.
- Manage emergency procedures and respond to health and safety-related complaints or issues
- Keep a focus on health and safety within the business
- Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry
- Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
- Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicate to all employees
- Keep records of inspections findings and produce reports that suggest improvements
- Keep records of incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers
- Deliver Toolbox Talks and liaise with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers
- Conduct regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to
- Making changes to working practices making them safer and ensuring they comply with current legislation
- Ensure safe working procedures are implemented
- Ensure that all accidents are reported, recorded, investigated and appropriate actions are taken to ensure that they do not happen again
Requirements
- 2-3 years in similar role
- Previous construction experience
- Must work well as a team and be able to collaborate with others
- Driver's license
