We are currently recruiting for a HSE Lead onsite in Charleville, Co. Cork. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in HSE and take real ownership of a busy and varied role.

About the role

This role requires a conscientious leader who can support and drive positive change, alongside being a confident communicator. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating Health & Safety & Environmental activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate Health & Safety & Environmental activities.
  • Advise management teams on legal requirements, industry best practice, and prevailing group standards.
  • Work with site management and the Regional HSE team to drive the safety agenda.
  • Engage with front line and management to maintain and own the pro-active safety culture.
  • Create opportunities for communication and involvement with colleagues.
  • Develop standards and performance frameworks for performance assessment and benchmarking.
  • Coordinate risk assessment and safe systems of work processes.
  • Investigate incidents and record and report industrial injuries as required.
  • Carry out routine Site Health & Safety/Environmental audits.
  • Review and maintain Site Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems.
  • Support Occupational Health & HR to ensure the health & wellbeing of colleagues.
  • Build effective HSE networks to share and learn best practice.
  • Maintain Environmental Management Systems in line with Company standards.

Qualifications and skills

  • Good knowledge of local H&S & Environmental Legislation.
  • PC literate including Microsoft Office and H&S software.
  • Stakeholder management: communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership skills: ability to influence and lead the HSE culture at front line level.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
