Job Description

Health & Safety Lead responsible for ensuring a safe working environment, collaborating with site management and operations teams, and maintaining compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary point of contact for all Health & Safety matters and liaise with regulatory authorities as needed.
  • Maintain a strong presence on-site, actively supporting and engaging with site management and operations teams on health and safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with the operations team to address key priorities, enhance compliance, and implement industry best practices.
  • Provide regular updates on assigned KPIs, both weekly and monthly.
  • Complete safety scorecards and work with site management to drive performance improvements.
  • Coordinate with Site Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to manage process changes, ensuring that potential risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Assist the operations team in identifying Capex needs and ensure all changes are risk assessed and managed effectively.
  • Maintain and periodically test Emergency Response Plans and provisions.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of approved audit programs, ensuring timely completion of all regulatory audit actions.
  • Conduct Health & Safety risk assessments, implement control measures, and maintain up-to-date safety statements and risk registers.
  • Organize, schedule, and execute Health & Safety audits, tracking all resulting issues and actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety training plans and monitor adherence to training requirements.
  • Develop and implement Health & Safety policies and procedures that meet both legal standards and best practice guidelines.
  • Adapt and respond to Health & Safety challenges in a dynamic work environment with a flexible and proactive approach.
  • Promptly report and thoroughly investigate all Health & Safety accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Identify, implement, and close out corrective and preventative actions using Continuous Improvement (CI) tools.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar Health & Safety role within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
  • A third-level qualification in a relevant field.
