Job Description

Proactive Safety-Focused Professionals Wanted for a Health & Safety Manager Role.
Leading a team to drive a strong health and safety culture across multiple sites, ensuring compliance and promoting a safe working environment.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the health and safety budget, leading site programs, maintaining risk assessments, and conducting specialist risk assessments.
As the health and safety business partner, you will support site leadership in delivering H&S accountabilities and improvement plans, and assist in sourcing and delivering health and safety training programs.
Maintain health and safety policies and procedures, inspect safety equipment, and integrate health and safety considerations into projects to minimize risks.
Minimum 3 years experience in health and safety management within a manufacturing environment, NEBOSH qualification, and strong understanding of health and safety legislation required.
Desirable qualifications include experience in the FMCG sector, environmental management, and continuous improvement techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the Health & Safety budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
Lead the site's Health & Safety program, ensuring ongoing legal compliance and continuous improvement.
Maintain up-to-date risk assessments and safe systems of work that are relevant to site operations.
Conduct specialist risk assessments (e.g., Manual Handling, CoSHH, DSE) to ensure risks are minimized in line with standards, commercial needs, and legislative requirements.
Ensure appropriate training and safeguards are in place and regularly reviewed.
Act as the Health & Safety business partner for the site leadership team, supporting them in delivering H&S accountabilities and improvement plans.
Assist the Site Training Coordinator in sourcing and delivering health and safety training programs in line with needs assessments.
Prepare Health & Safety board reports and lead monthly H&S management review meetings.
Support site maintenance teams to ensure statutory inspections are completed, PPM programs are up to date, and machinery is safe to use according to legislative requirements.
Actively assist in monitoring contractors on site and manage the Permit to Work System.
Maintain and update Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Inspect and review PPE and safety equipment to ensure suitability.
Ensure Health & Safety considerations are integrated into all relevant projects to minimize risks of injury, illness, or environmental harm.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 3 years experience in Health & Safety Management within a manufacturing environment.
NEBOSH Qualification or recognized equivalent.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Experience working within a multi-site organization.
Proven skills in influencing, coaching, communication, and time management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated leadership in driving the Health & Safety agenda on site.
Ability to work under pressure and focus on solutions.
