Job Description: A leading Food Manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their team. The role involves leading and influencing safety practices across multiple sites, ensuring compliance and promoting a safe working environment. Key responsibilities include overseeing the health & safety budget, leading the site's health & safety program, and maintaining up-to-date risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Health & Safety budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Lead the site's Health & Safety program, ensuring ongoing legal compliance and continuous improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date risk assessments and safe systems of work that are relevant to site operations.
- Ensure that Health & Safety systems on-site are consistently maintained and updated.
- Conduct specialist risk assessments to ensure risks are minimized in line with standards, commercial needs, and legislative requirements.
- Ensure appropriate training and safeguards are in place and regularly reviewed.
- Act as the Health & Safety business partner for the site leadership team.
- Support site training and maintenance teams to ensure statutory inspections are completed and machinery is safe to use.
- Actively assist in monitoring contractors on site and manage the Permit to Work System.
- Maintain and update Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Health & Safety Management within a manufacturing environment.
- NEBOSH Qualification or recognized equivalent.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
- Experience working within a multi-site organization.
- Proven skills in influencing, coaching, communication, and time management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in the FMCG sector.
- Environmental Management experience.
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
