**Your Duties:**

  • Helping patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assisting with oral hygiene and denture care
  • Assisting patients with walking, transferring from bed to wheelchair, and positioning in bed
  • Encouraging and aiding patients in exercises and mobility activities as directed by healthcare professionals
  • Assisting patients with eating and drinking
  • Monitoring and recording food and fluid intake
  • Providing incontinence care and changing bed linens as necessary
  • Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of medical equipment
  • Sterilizing instruments and ensuring proper storage
  • Supporting nurses and doctors during examinations and procedures
  • Providing assistance in wound care and dressing changes
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Adhering to Protocols by following hospital policies, procedures, and protocols and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control practice
  • Recording observations and reporting changes in patient condition
  • Organizing and maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
  • Patient Interaction by providing companionship and emotional support to patients, communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Supporting Mental Well-being by engaging patients in conversation and recreational activities, offering reassurance and comfort

**Requirements:**

  • Caring, patient, and empathetic nature
  • A minimum of 6 months experience as HCA in a nursing home or hospital
  • Right to work in Ireland
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Access to a vehicle is preferred but not essential however you must be able to commute easily
  • Full QQI 5 Major Healthcare Support Award (8 modules completed essential) or a Nursing Degree
  • A good understanding of the irish healthcare system and care
