**Your Duties:**
- Helping patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assisting with oral hygiene and denture care
- Assisting patients with walking, transferring from bed to wheelchair, and positioning in bed
- Encouraging and aiding patients in exercises and mobility activities as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assisting patients with eating and drinking
- Monitoring and recording food and fluid intake
- Providing incontinence care and changing bed linens as necessary
- Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of medical equipment
- Sterilizing instruments and ensuring proper storage
- Supporting nurses and doctors during examinations and procedures
- Providing assistance in wound care and dressing changes
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Adhering to Protocols by following hospital policies, procedures, and protocols and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control practice
- Recording observations and reporting changes in patient condition
- Organizing and maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
- Patient Interaction by providing companionship and emotional support to patients, communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Supporting Mental Well-being by engaging patients in conversation and recreational activities, offering reassurance and comfort
**Requirements:**
- Caring, patient, and empathetic nature
- A minimum of 6 months experience as HCA in a nursing home or hospital
- Right to work in Ireland
- Excellent communication skills
- Access to a vehicle is preferred but not essential however you must be able to commute easily
- Full QQI 5 Major Healthcare Support Award (8 modules completed essential) or a Nursing Degree
