Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team in Kilrush Nursing Home & Memory Care Centre.
This is a full-time role that requires a high level of flexibility and a commitment to delivering exceptional care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support nursing staff in delivering high-quality person-centred care to meet the needs of residents
- Get to know residents' interests and needs, providing attention, support, and companionship
- Promote residents' mobility, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure optimum mobility is maintained
- Enable and assist residents to maintain their personal appearance and hygiene needs while maintaining their dignity
- Communicate with nurses regarding residents' conditions or daily life
- Enable and assist residents to eat, drink, and achieve physical comfort
- Participate in and organize social activities
- Sustain high levels of communication between residents, families, and staff, developing good relationships
- Assist in maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the home
- Contribute to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the home
Requirements:
- QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare or equivalent
- Experience working in a healthcare environment, preferably with knowledge of HIQA standards
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Reliable and professional
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Fluent level of English, both written and oral
