Job Title: Industrial Heat Pump / Refrigeration Engineer


Location: Ireland

Job Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Heat Pump/Refrigeration Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial heat pump systems, ensuring their optimal performance. As a Refrigeration Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the heat pump and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:


  1. Maintain and repair various types of water-to-water heat pump systems.
  2. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of systems.
  3. Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in systems, identifying the root cause and implementing effective repair solutions.
  4. Perform regular servicing of equipment to maximize efficiency and prevent breakdowns.
  5. Monitor and maintain refrigerant levels and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  6. Collaborate with other team members to coordinate installation projects and ensure timely completion.
  7. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labour hours.
  8. Stay updated with industry advancements and emerging technologies in refrigeration systems.
  9. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  10. Inspection and maintenance of large solar PV systems.

Requirements:


  1. Proven experience as a chiller/refrigeration Engineer or similar role.
  2. Experience with water-to-water chillers or heat pumps.
  3. Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems and components.
  4. Familiarity with various types of refrigerants and their properties.
  5. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing refrigeration system malfunctions.
  6. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  10. Valid refrigeration engineer license/certification.
  11. Physical fitness and ability to work in various environments and conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:


  1. Minimum 5 years post-apprenticeship experience.
  2. Prior experience working in industrial or commercial refrigeration sector.
  3. Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable refrigeration practices.
  4. Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  5. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
