Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hotel Accommodation Trainer to join our Accommodation Team in the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Loaghaire. The role of Accommodation Trainer is crucial in elevating the service standards and operational excellence within the Royal Marine Hotel. They are instrumental in developing the skills and knowledge of the Accommodation Team, ensuring that guests receive an exceptional service experience. Job Purpose In the role as Accommodation Trainer, your primary objective is to enhance the professional skills and knowledge of individuals within the Accommodation Team, as well as shaping the team to meet the industry's high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction. The role is suitable for candidates coming from an extensive hotel accommodation and supervision background. This a physically demanding, full hands on practical role, not an office based position. It requires standing for long period of times, completing cleaning tasks, room checking and supervisory responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities Develop Training Programmes Design comprehensive training modules that address the specific needs of the Royal Marine Hotel. This entails conducting thorough needs analyses, setting learning objectives and crafting course materials that are both engaging and relevant to the participants' roles. Conduct Training Sessions Facilitating dynamic and interactive training sessions is another critical aspect of your job. That can be a group or personal presentation, with focus on hands on, practical training. You must be adept at conveying information clearly and enthusiastically, utilising various teaching methodologies to cater to diverse learning styles. Evaluate Training Outcomes Post-training it is essential to assess the efficacy of the programmes delivered and to ensure that the training objectives have been met. This will be done by room checking and supervising the staff by implementing mechanisms to measure the participants' knowledge retention. Maintain Industry Knowledge You are expected to keep abreast of the latest trends and standards in the hospitality sector, and in Accommodation in particular. Regularly updating your own knowledge ensures that the training material remains current and that you are providing insights into the most up-to-date practices within the industry. Key Skills and Competencies Minimum two years previous experience as Accommodation Supervisor or above in a 4* hotel is mandatory. Communication and Presentation Speak and write with clarity and purpose. Use body language effectively to engage your audience and deliver practical training as well as other methods to ensure foreign nationals with lower language skills are properly trained. Organisational Abilities Manage training schedules and materials. Maintain an orderly approach to preparing for sessions and managing resources. Keep accurate records of training outcomes and attendee progress. Interpersonal Skills Demonstrated capacity to listen, empathise, and respond to trainee feedback. Adapt your communication style to suit different personalities, languages and hierarchies. Problem-Solving Aptitude Analysescenarios effectively to implement practical solutions. Encourage a proactive approach to overcoming challenges amongst trainees. Influencing others Build and maintain trust by proving your skills and excel in your role. Inspire the team and lead by example. Prepare for and overcome resistance.
