HR Manager Lir Chocolates, Navan, County Meath Full time, permanent (Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week) Are you an experienced HR professional looking to take the next step in your career? Lir Chocolates is seeking an HR Manager to help lead all things people-related at our chocolate manufacturing site.


As the HR Manager, you will play a critical role in providing hands-on, comprehensive HR support to our leadership team and employees, focusing on employee relations, engagement, and development.


You will be a key member of the site leadership team, working closely with the HR Manager (Confectionery) and HR Director to align our group HR strategy with local business objectives.

Responsibilities:
Employee Relations Manage ER cases including grievances, disciplinary, absence, welfare, and performance, ensuring compliance with employment law.

Be available to support ER case management and coach junior HR colleagues.

Maintain relationships with external legal advisors and coach managers on HR procedures.

Lead restructures and support site management, ensuring employee comp and bens align with standards.

Training Monitor training compliance and support the Group L&D Manager with site training needs.

Continue personal development by staying updated on HR best practices.

Communication Ensure effective employee communication and advise managers on communication methods.

Deputy Chair of BIG meetings and maintain relationships with agency labor providers.

Collaborate with the UK HR Team to share updates and work on joint initiatives.

Employment Law Stay up-to-date on employment law, advising managers on legislative changes.

Maintain and update site procedures and the company handbook.


People Development Work with the Group L&D Specialist on professional development, maintain the PDR system, and support site succession planning.

Manage development programs, apprenticeships, and graduate programs.

Recruitment Support talent sourcing and recruitment activities for professional and factory roles.

Enhance onboarding processes for new starters.

Payroll Ensure GDPR-compliant data management and accurate payroll processing.

Review pay structures and discuss with stakeholders for annual pay reviews.

KPIs Prepare and present accurate HR reports and KPIs.

Collaborate on determining the annual HR budget for the site.

Employee Engagement Conduct engagement surveys and drive related initiatives.

Organize site events and oversee values awards and wellbeing programs.

Support sustainability initiatives at the site.

Ethical Trading & Compliance Maintain Sedex compliance and support internal/external audits.

Ensure all files are GDPR-compliant and build ethical best practices across sites.


Team Work with the site Director and SLT to build a strong HR function, managing a HR Advisor, Administrator and Receptionist.

Support HR team development and conduct PDRs.

Participate in leadership meetings and ensure alignment with company values.

Required Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience:
CIPD Level 5 or 7 qualification (or equivalent qualification/ experience).

Significant experience in HR within manufacturing (food industry or other FMCG preferred but not essential).

Strong understanding of employment legislation and proven ability to manage employee relations cases.

A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to challenge the status quo and generate new ideas.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and build relationships at all levels.

Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
