Job Description

Main purpose of the role: Maintain and enhance the store's human resources by planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programmes and practices.

The ideal candidate will have:


  • 2 years' experience in a relevant position

  • CIPD qualification is desirable

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Good delegation skills

  • Highly driven with a strong work ethic

  • Understanding of KPIs and targets

  • Commerciality and brand awareness

  • Passion for grocery retail

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment



Main duties:

  • Ensure optimum employment levels through recruitment and selection procedures

  • Develop personal training and development plans for each employee

  • Promote a harmonious working atmosphere through employee communication and problem resolution

  • Ensure store compliance with relevant legislation

  • Provide employee induction and initial and ongoing training

  • Document and record internal and external training

  • Manage probation periods

  • Maintain employee attendance, holiday and leave records

  • Implement Grievance and Disciplinary policies correctly

  • Ensure customer service programmes and procedures are in place

  • Liaise with shop and union officials in accordance with company policies
