HR & Payroll Specialist - Shannon About Us: Our client is a leading engineering firm based in Shannon, Clare, offering high-quality solutions across various engineering fields. Role Overview: Our client is looking for a full-time Payroll and HR Administrator to manage weekly payroll for approximately 1,100 employees and support HR functions. This role primarily focuses on payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient handling of payroll-related matters. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Administration: Manage and process weekly payroll for around 1,100 employees using Core Access software. Accurately calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and benefits, ensuring compliance with Irish tax and labour laws. Prepare and submit statutory returns, including PAYE, PRSI, and USC, and handle queries from Revenue. Maintain and update payroll records, including managing changes for new hires, terminations, and adjustments in pay or hours. Resolve payroll discrepancies and promptly respond to employee queries regarding their pay, deductions, and benefits. Distribute payslips and manage payroll-related documentation securely and confidentially. Collaborate with the Finance team to reconcile payroll accounts and provide payroll reports as needed. HR Administration (Secondary Duties): Assist with recruitment tasks such as scheduling interviews and preparing offer letters. Maintain and update employee records in compliance with GDPR and company policies. Support the administration of employee benefits, including leave management, pension schemes, and health insurance. Assist with implementing HR policies and supporting employee engagement initiatives. Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar payroll role, preferably in a high-volume environment. Strong knowledge of Irish payroll regulations, tax codes, and statutory requirements. Proficiency in Core Access payroll software (advantageous) and MS Office, particularly Excel. Excellent numerical skills and high attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain data integrity. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
