Job Description
Health and Safety Advisor required for a top civils contractor in the South East, responsible for ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Regulations and implementing the client's HSEQ policy.
The ideal candidate will be integral to the development, monitoring, and implementation of the client's HSEQ policy, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Regulations. Our client is a leading civils contractor with a strong commitment to health and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing the company's health, safety, quality, and environmental policy, procedures, and management systems.
- Advising and assisting site management in drafting and communicating Method Statements, Safe Plans of Action, and Tool Box Talks.
- Providing advice, guidance, and instruction in all health and safety matters to management, safety representatives, and employees (including sub-contractors where appropriate).
- Delivering Health and Safety induction programmes for new employees or sub-contractors working on site.
- Conducting regular inspections and site audits, reporting findings to site and senior company management.
- Ensuring that all accidents are reported, recorded, and investigated, and that suitable notification is given to the relevant authorities.
- Compiling relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File and preparing for handover to the Client at the end of the project.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in Health and Safety.
- Track record of H&S on construction sites.
- Excellent IT skills and communication.
- Flexible to travel to sites.
