Experienced HSE Manager sought for contract position with major EPCM company in Dublin, with hybrid work model.

Job Description: Asset Recruitment is seeking an experienced HSE Manager for a contract position, on behalf of our client, a major EPCM company. This role is based in Dublin, with a hybrid work model – 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate is required to have 7+ years of relevant experience leading and embedding health and safety practices into highly complex, large engineering capital delivery projects and 5+ years of experience carrying out health and safety activities across the project lifecycle through to completion on high value road and/or infrastructure projects in a live urban environment or projects of a similar scale and complexity.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Working with Irish Government Regulation governing construction health and safety, including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013;
  • The design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural, engineering or construction sectors;
  • Managing best practice in technical activities, processes, policies and standards;
  • Dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the development of processes and providing support to project delivery and reporting;
  • Dealing with contract documents, forms of contract and specifications;
  • Developing and maintaining health and safety management Systems, Safe T Cert, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001;
  • Developing health, safety and welfare strategies and setting programme-wide health, safety and welfare performance indicators;
  • Management of high-performing teams, including carrying out performance management, undertaking resource planning and embedding a focus on continuous improvement and best-practice;
  • Delivering within safety critical and regulated environments, particularly within live, urban environments.

Requirements:

  • Ability to manage multiple technical requirements and teams within a construction environment;
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications and other project tools and methodologies;
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to drive and govern outcomes to ensure high quality service is delivered while creating a collaborative culture across the project team;
  • Capacity to resolve unforeseen risks and issues;
  • Outstanding stakeholder negotiation and management skills;
  • Excellent team leadership skills with ability to influence others to drive effective design decision making;
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines and deliver consistent service;
  • Ability to step back from the detail and take a holistic overview;
  • Ability to manage client expectations and deliver within agreed parameters;
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment both on their own initiative and as part of a team.
