The role holder shall provide leadership in the delivery of health and safety, security, environmental and quality (HSSEQ) delivery standards and the compliance requirements for all project activities. The HSSEQ lead will act as a source of expert technical advice, providing assurance, ensuring compliance, and carrying out due diligence on matters relating to HSSEQ to ensure that the project is delivered safely. The role holder will lead the HSSEQ team within the safety function and must lead by example and serve as a role model in ensuring the highest standards of HSSEQ are adopted.You'll be responsible for:Driving the implementation and compliance of business Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) policies, procedures, guidance notes and standards on assigned project/s.Monitoring and assists with the creation and coordination of the inspection and audit schedule, and undertakes and provides support for operational Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) inspections and audits.Providing input and participating in the development of new and updates to existing standards.Working with Irish government regulation governing construction health and safety including the safety, health and welfare at work (construction) regulations 2013Analysing and interpreting results of reporting, audits, corrective actions, operations reports and key performance indicators (KPI')s, ensuring mechanisms are in place to enable accurate measurement, reporting and rectification - identifies gaps for improvement and develops mitigation plans with operations to support rectification.Contributes to and manages incident investigations in line with business procedures.Seeking opportunities for continuous improvements/improving working processes.Developing effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.You'll need to have:Formal qualification Nebosh Certificate (or equivalent).BA/BSc in an engineering/technology or related discipline is preferredStrong organisational and time management skills and delivery to deadlines.Good communication and presentation skills, written and oral.Able to use SMART objectives to effectively deliver results.Self-motivated and purpose-led.Ability to build rapport and good working relationships with people at all levels.Attention to detail.Use own initiative, proactive and solution-focused.You'll also have:Member of a relevant professional body such as IOSH, OHSA etc (or equivalent).Able to manage conflicting priorities under pressure and to deadlines.Proven ability to present information to different audiences.Guides and manages relevant stakeholders.Ability to coordinate and organize multiple sources of reporting inputs/performance data and deliver project/programme reports as requiredAn ability to work effectively in a team environmentExcellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonalKnowledge of HSW legislation, management systems, auditing and risk management mitigation.Being able to present a range of technical information to non-technical audiences.Mace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates.
