Job Description

Human Resources Director My client is looking for a Director of Human Resources to plan, direct, and coordinate the Human Resource function of their company in association with all relevant stakeholders within the business. The main fucntion of the role is to ensure compliance with good practice and current legislation while providing strategic direction, planning and expertise to ensure the company's workforce is productive, engaged and treated professionally and with care while in their roles within the company. You will be the 'leader, benchmark and example' of how associates are managed, treated and communicated with throughtout the organisation. Main Responsibilities of the role include the following: Be a clear and effective communicator who has the ability to prepare a robust HR strategy, leading to the successful delivery of a HR plan that will ensure company goals are met and exceeded.Work with departmental managers to attract, hire and retain the most suitable candidates while maintaining a keen focus on associate development at all times.Participate and consistently support departmental managers in the areas of performance reviews, associate behaviour and issues that may arise from time to time that may involve disciplinary action.Analyse training needs in collaboration with the Training and Development Manager.Ongoing development and review of HR policies and procedures ensuring that the company remains consistent with current legislation and good practice.Develop and drive initiatives to ensure a positive working environment and culture to include associate recognition programs, social events, well-being and welfare to ensure ongoing positive associate engagement.Manage and champion those areas of welfare that are important to associates (e.g.; uniforms, associate canteen and changing facilities, associate housing. etc.)Manage and drive the annual associate survey process, ensuring subsequent results are communicated, actioned and reported to HQ as requested.Duty management shifts. (normally 1 per month).Maintain a strong and positive working relationship with all relevant agencies and stakeholders that support the HR function e.g. IBEC, IHF, Medmark, Failte Ireland, Great Places to Work, and all relevant third level institutions.Collaboration with the leadership team as a business partner, to ensure the overall business plan and goals of the company are implemented and met successfullProvide input on the HR implications of business and operational decisions /plans, being taken (workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment.)Prepare and deliver weekly updates as a member of the executive team while providing regular updates to the VP of Human Resources for the Organisation in New York.Maintain strong budget awareness and possess an understanding of revenues and expenses in managing costs effectively, especially organisational payroll through weekly payroll meetings.Contribute to the broader global HR team, working beyond the local remit as may be required.Lead the HR team and office where excellence, professionalism and integrity are paramount, ensuring confidentiality ensuring all associate information and personal details are maintained securely.Ensure that all HR processes are legally compliant and conducted in line with legislation while consistently adopting the principles of reasonableness and fairness.Guide the organisation through periods of change as required.Drive compensation and benefits strategies in partnership with the General Manager and Director of Finance.To promote and fulfil obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1989 and any revisions or additional legislation made thereto. In order to fulfill the requirements of this role, you must have the following skills and experience: - Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management - Strong knowledge and significance experience in employment law. - CIPD Qualification MCIPD desirable. - Minimum of 3 years previous experience in Human Resources Management particularly in the hospitality sector an advantage. - A strong leader who is a clear thinker, empathetic and decisive. - Excellent literary and business skills. - Good organisational and problem-solving skills. - Strong judgement, the ability to think strategically, execute tactically and collaborate across many teams and levels. - A team player who is resourceful and self-motivated This really is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to establish a long-term career in a varied and interesting role in an organisation which takes great care of their employees.
