Quantity Surveyor - Mechanical - HVAC - Cork City Office/Project Location: Cork City, Cork Employment Type: Permanent Work Location: Office Pay: €Competitive Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications Experience: 3+ years Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa required Our client is an established specialist in cleanroom construction, HVAC services, heat recovery, and carbon emission reduction projects, as well as general mechanical and electrical services. They service clients in various industry sectors including Bio Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Electronics, Food & Dairy, and Data Centre/Light Industrial sectors. Reporting to the Project Manager and Lead Estimator, the Quantity Surveyor will work on one key project and assist on site in carrying the project through to successful completion. Key duties of the role include, but are not restricted to: Preparing and generating monthly interim valuations & accounts. Processing and updating mechanical bills of quantities. Assisting with the issuing of monthly interim accounts. Compiling project variations & monitoring expenditure vs tender cost allowance. Material procurement based on MTOs provided by BIM and Engineering team. Reviewing material stocks, processing orders, and understanding stock material certifications. Processing and understanding field bulletins (cost details on contract variations), based on agreed rates and backup information from field engineering and construction supervision. Generating weekly progress reports in collaboration with relevant colleagues. Developing and agreeing project unit rate cost increases, considering contractual annual cost adjustment clauses. Preparing MTOs. Requirements: 3rd level qualification, at level 8 or above in an engineering discipline, business, accounting, science, or mathematics background. Interest in working within the Construction industry. Strong commercial awareness. Comfortable in using Microsoft Office, with the ability to generate detailed monthly reports. Conscientious, with excellent attention to detail and multitasking abilities. Positive attitude with a passion to learn & succeed, energetic approach, and accountability.
