Job Description

Unijobs on behalf of our client, Children's Health Ireland (CHI), are recruiting for the position of ICT Infrastructure Technical Architect. Incorporates a hybrid working model with an estimated 2-day remote working. This post is for 18 months initially. Standard working week 35 hours,however, flexibility to working hours may arise for urgent service needs. The successful candidate must possess the professional qualifications, and is hands on, experienced, and ideally have hospital experience in a near zero coding "buy to build" environment. Purpose of the role The ICT programme for the new children's hospital and its outpatient and urgent care centres comprises of several work streams including Clinical;Corporate & Non-Clinical ICT;Outpatient and Urgent Care;Infrastructure;Programme Support & Business Engagement. The post holder will be required to Work closely with the client business, not just IT, to understand opportunities and solve complex problems, communicating solution options and technical concepts in a clear non-technical manner Drive a technical architecture process within implementations and procurements to ensure that vendors' designs are fit for purpose and meet CHI's short,medium,and long-term needs Deliver designs and architectures for key enterprise application initiatives using a mixture of COTS/enterprise applications and healthcare specific applications hosted in a variety of environments considering re-use, scalability and reliability Drive a fit for purpose architecture aligned with client wider architectural principles, policies and design. Work closely with clinical and operational customers to focus on meeting their requirements and incorporate broader aspects such as overall product costs/revenue,data privacy & control,business continuity,information security and integration with other system Lead or share leadership and project management responsibilities Be responsible for the delivery and stabilisation of the technical architecture Key Responsibilities Technical Architecture Lead the development of the Technical Architecture function & capability Collaborate with the business to understand/influence business requirements Shape the future roadmaps for CHI's future technology platforms underpinning the CHI's digital services. Develop technology standards and contribute to associated policies Partner with the major ICT vendors and equivalent hospitals in the industry both national and internationally to identify global best practice solutions Develop technical inputs into procurement documentation for various ICT solutions Demonstrate understanding of cross-functional/cross-domain requirements and impact Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products related to health care provision architectural solutions Guide the estimation of project cost and assist business counterparts in selecting appropriate solutions based on budget and business constraints Relationship Management & Communication Establish and manage relationships with customer departments,internal teams,external vendors and bodies including the HSE,HSE Architecture team and government agencies Provide multiple solutions to problems identified and communicate options with stakeholders Present technical concepts in simple and understandable terms Provide key technical liaison between the architecture team, the application teams and local ICT teams. Align solutions with local requirements and IT strategic directions where possible Work closely with clinical services to determine standard work practices and translate these into business requirements and solutions support clinical workflows Project Leadership & Direction Identify risks and issues and develop and implement strategies/mitigation activities to reduce/eliminate identified risks Operate under project governance and controls to support the successful delivery of projects and project elements Support and deliver relevant milestones in the commissioning plan for the new children's hospital Essential Criteria Third level degree/post-graduate qualification in a technical discipline-Computer Science, Information Technology or Electronic Engineering plus 3 years post qualification experience in a relevant role, Or, 5+ years' experience in a relevant and similar role Desirable Criteria Infrastructure architecture experience gained within large, complex environments Strong infrastructure experience Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills coupled with stakeholder engagement skills Experience of delivering and supporting technology delivery in a healthcare environment Service delivery including acquisition and implementation of technology as a service, the development of service operational models, the development of a service framework and measures, contracting for specific service level agreements and management of vendor SLA performance A project management qualification Knowledge and experience of public service procurement Salary range: €77,000-€80,000 Location: Based within geographical area of CHI.
