Job Description

Overview Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Information Communication Technology Department is responsible for the installation, support and ongoing maintenance of all IT hardware and software within the hospital including its telephone systems. This involves network and server administration, hardware installation and maintenance, helpdesk support, software installation and upgrades, systems implementation and general troubleshooting. A key aspect of the department is the project management and engagement with stakeholders in relation to IT projects relative to the hospital and the RCSI Hospital Group. This service is delivered to a multidisciplinary user base of approximately 2000 users across the hospital campus. Purpose of the post: To support the development, implementation and use of a comprehensive range of information systems and business applications within Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Louth County Hospital & Cottage Community Hospital T o manage the service area's information systems facilities on a day-to-day basis To maximise the use of information systems To ensure HSE information systems policies and procedures are adhered to To ensure data and information quality in the specified service area To ensure the security of hospital data including patient information stored To assist in data sharing amongst RCSI Hospital Group, where appropriate To develop and review metrics and SLA's where appropriate Panel may be formed to fill temporary/ permanent & full time/part time vacancies in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Louth Hounty Hospital & The Cottage Community Hub Salary Scale 1/6/24 Essential Criteria Candidates must meet the following criteria on the closing date: Have a minimum of 6 years working in Information Technology at a senior level or a related area - has knowledge of commonly used technology and procedures including operating systems, servers, networks, DNS, DHCP, network security, SAN, NAS, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft, Linux, File/Print, LDAP, Firewalls, VPN, And Evidence of having worked on, and successfully participated in ICT related projects preferably in a HSE/OoCIO environment to include working knowledge of PRINCE 2 or PMP along with practical experience of same And Experience of having managed a large user base (Over 500 users) in an ICT support and development role preferably in a HSE/OoCIO environment And Experience of a range of application systems, Databases and operating systems, a knowledge of IPIMS would be an advantage Post Specific Requirements: additional qualifications and/or experience required: Help/Support Desk experience required IT Project Management experience Has knowledge of commonly-used technology and procedures in the IT field including operating systems, servers, networks, DNS, DHCP, network security, SAN, NAS, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft, Linux, File/Print, LDAP, Firewalls, VPN, Secure remote access internet access, Virus Protection, Security Filtering, LAN/WAN/MAN and wireless and virtualisation.
