You will be responsible for the design, implementation and enhancement of information systems that will address current business requirements and enable future business strategic initiatives. The primary function will be to prescribe the necessary technical infrastructure to deliver highly resilient, high performance, secure and cost-effective technology infrastructures in either on-prem, hybrid, or dedicated cloud environments. A snapshot of your key responsibilities: Responsible for aligning the business needs with strategic infrastructure and cloud technology roadmaps by assessing current system capabilities and designing future technology architectures that aligns with the business strategic initiatives. Lead the infrastructure architecture design efforts associated with all implementations or enhancement initiatives ensuring the implemented infrastructure architectures incorporate best in class security. Contribute to the Operations Management, managed services provider (vendor) teams and Enterprise Architecture in defining, evolving and optimising our infrastructure baseline. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of detailed infrastructure architecture diagram descriptions, documentation and templates of all on-prem, hybrid, or dedicated cloud environments using the appropriate architecture tools. Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering a culture of innovation across IT and business teams and champion digital transformation initiatives, leveraging data analytics, automation, and other advanced tools. Contribute/lead the TO-BE infrastructure architecture propositions for new business initiatives and their attendant IT projects, working closely with internal business teams, technology vendors and manage service providers. Responsible for resolution and root cause analysis acting as Tier 3 Level Support in systems and network environments, working with the IT Operations team. Present infrastructure architecture designs in an understandable manner to both business and IT stakeholders and in a way that Operations (and managed services providers) can implement and support. Lead the continuous improvement efforts within the IT Operations and Architecture group through developing and sharing deep expertise in particular subject areas, including training to Operations team to support new infrastructure deployments. Maintain knowledge of IT Infrastructure technology trends, particularly in the areas of Cloud computing, architecture designs, standards and practices and regularly brief senior management on possible new technologies or infrastructure architecture designs. Perform infrastructure architecture feasibility in support of overall solution/application architecture feasibility assessments. This may involve prototyping and proof of concept work, as well as in-depth vendor engagement. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in infrastructure & Cloud technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting. 5+ years of technical experience in designing, deploying, supporting, troubleshooting any of the following technologies: Azure Cloud Services Cloud Security and Governance Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, etc) Demonstrated experience of building and evolving enterprise-like architecture with a strong track record of delivering change in a complex environment Subject matter expert for Azure Cloud and M365 Cloud Services Industry certifications: Azure (a must), TOGAF, CCP, MCSE, VCP, CISSP Excellent understanding of core security principles with track record of incorporating security at every level of the design Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical users Demonstrated ability to communicate with individuals and groups Demonstrated ability to develop and technology roadmaps in line with strategic plans, aligning technology initiatives with business goals. Excellent knowledge of network (LAN & WAN), VoIP, WAN optimisation, data replication technologies and standards Detail-oriented, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously Flexible and self-starting with an exceptional aptitude for dealing with ambiguity Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English to both technical and business audiences Works well independently and as part of a team Desirable skills and experience: Working knowledge of ITIL Knowledge of AWS Cloud Experience of working in the insurance and/or financial sector Opportunity type:Permanent, Hybrid in Cork Start date: ASAP Skills: infrastructure azure M365
