Job Description

Due to continued growth, my client an Irish Software company who are the leading indigenous supplier of software to the Credit Union industry, seeks to hire an Infrastructure Manager to join their team and lead a team of support and Field engineers. The successful candidate will join an established team as a Lead or Manager. This team provide onsite and remote support across infrastructure such as Cloud Migrations, deployments, implementations etc. to clients in Ireland and the UK. Candidate should be energetic, professional and have excellent client management skills and have experience managing a support or field engineering team. In this role you will still hold the technical experience to lead the team through deployment/ cloud migrations and troubleshoot the core business application/MS SQL Server application and support/troubleshoot hardware related issues and guide the team throughout issues that arise throughout projects. The role will be a hybrid model of 2 days on site in their West Dublin office and rest can be from home. Responsibilities: Manage a team and projects of migrations, deployment, installation and support of business client/server software suite and associated hardware for customer base across Ireland and the UK. Taking ownership of projects and seeing them and the team through to completion. Troubleshoot issues and liaise with different departments, outside vendors and customers to resolve problems and issues and guide the team through all projects. At times there may be expectations to help out on projects so the ability to stay technically hands on is a must. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues. Stakeholder management skills require by ensuring customer satisfaction and the ability to escalate onsite troubles to the relevant department within the company or to third parties when necessary. Working well and communicating within the Application/ Field Support team, including the transfer of knowledge. Candidates should display an ability to learn on the job, to work on their own initiative and be willing to expand their expertise. There are multiple migrations ongoing for the next few years moving our core applications/services to an Azure environment for all credit union customers. Experience with Cloud migrations is a must. What you need: A minimum of a degree or Diploma in Computer Science or a relevant related field. Experience leading a team of Field OR Support engineers is a must. Must be customer focused with a demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills, including oral and written English. Experience dealing with customers, adeptness with addressing complicated technical issues with non-technical users High degree of competency with the Microsoft desktop and hardware technologies is essential. Experience with Windows 10 desktop environment, operating system and MS Office products. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows servers / Terminal servers and a capacity to troubleshoot, diagnose issues and communicate with various hardware vendors on a business and technical level Cloud migration experience with Azure or similar Strong logical problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and take initiative. Effective time management skills; must be able to handle multi-tasking and handle the pressure of deadlines. Available to work out of hours / weekends if necessary, to ensure completion of projects. Basic knowledge of networking and IP. Basic knowledge of SQL and Microsoft SQL Server, comfortable writing basic ad hoc SQL scripts and queries, running database backups and restores.
