Job Description

Summary: Join a manufacturing site that has undergone major investment and expansion since 2022 as an injection moulding engineer. Prior medical device and/or injection moulding experience required. Key responsibilities include introducing new products, optimizing processes, and ensuring conformance to ISO standards. Requirements: National Diploma in Engineering, 3 years' experience in injection moulding industry, and knowledge of injection mould tooling, design, and automation systems. Additional skills include statistical process control, design of experiments, and computer systems. Excellent communication and documentation skills required.

Responsibilities:

  • Introduce all new products into the company, compiling standard specifications for each process and monitoring all existing production to standard specifications.
  • Ensure process optimization using statistical techniques.
  • Work with the Production Group leaders (PGL's) in troubleshooting processing problems.
  • Establish relationships with customers and Equipment/ Raw Material suppliers in pursuit of continuous improvement and on-going business development.
  • Solve customer related problems/issues in conjunction with the Quality department.
  • Instruct others regarding manufacturing related skills or knowledge and assist in the training of employees on new processes or systems.
  • Coordinate the development of documentation in the Production and Technical areas in line with ISO9001:2000 and ISO 13485 requirements.
  • Communicate with external suppliers of materials and equipment and provide regular feedback on any issues to the management team.


Requirements:
  • National Diploma in Engineering (Degree in Plastics Engineering preferably).
  • Min 3 years' experience in the injection moulding industry.
  • Very good knowledge of Injection mould tooling and design.
  • Very good knowledge of Injection Moulding (standard process and Multi component), Processing, Ancillary equipment and automation systems.
  • Preferably worked in either the Medical, Packaging or technological industries.
  • Preferably have some knowledge of Real time monitoring systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of experiments (DOE).
  • Good knowledge of the principles of WCM, JIT, SMED, and Kaizen.
  • Knowledge in computer systems; integrated manufacturing systems; word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately document work performed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel as required by the position.
