Job Description

Our Client, a leading packaging company in Limerick, is hiring a full-time Injection Moulding Process Engineer.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Responsible for assuring the efficient use of materials, machines, moulds, and auxiliary equipment.
  2. Perform mould set up, colour changes, and material trials to meet production demands as needed.
  3. Troubleshoot mould processes, machines, and auxiliary equipment problems and make necessary changes to ensure quality and reduce downtime.
  4. Set moulding process parameters to ensure the product meets dimensional and quality requirements.
  5. Provide technical assistance to moulding technicians and operators.
  6. Ensure compliance with all moulding area related procedures, policies, and work instructions.
  7. Participate in and support the Quality Management System.
  8. Support Critical to Quality projects.
  9. Support new tool design and development.
  10. Responsible for mould validation and process documentation.
  11. Support on new injection moulding machine selection.
  12. Monitor and maintain air, water, and material supply to moulding machines to the highest standards.
  13. Take a preventative maintenance approach regarding Injection Moulding machines and all auxiliary equipment, ensuring PM plans as per machine supplier recommendations are maintained.
  14. Promote and support TPM projects within the injection moulding area.
  15. Develop and maintain a culture of world-class preventative maintenance thinking, including Industry 4.0 projects.
  16. Set and share best practices.
  17. Work with outside engineers to improve internal knowledge for both you and the teams.
  18. Support the Injection Moulding technical teams in day-to-day troubleshooting using good engineering fixes including micro and major automation.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree – preferable in Polymer processing.
  • 2+ years experience in Polymer processing.
  • Parts assembly process knowledge.
  • Good general knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, cooling, and electrical systems.
  • Industry 4.0 minded.
  • Data-driven decision making.
  • Understanding of priorities.
  • 6S methodology.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a production company.
