Supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve their personal outcomes and develop positive roles in their community.
We are seeking qualified Instructor/Supervisors to join our services in a Day Service setting. As an Instructor/Supervisor, you will be involved in supporting clients to build on their potential and develop positive roles within their day service and community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and implement a person-centered approach for clients, respecting their wishes and goals.
- Promote and protect the rights of people, respecting their dignity, autonomy, and privacy.
- Seek new interests and opportunities for people to develop meaningful roles in their communities.
- Ensure the overall wellbeing of clients in all areas of their lives, including health and personal care.
- Teach life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and building confidence.
Requirements:
- Hold a minimum of QQI level 6 in Training or Education, Social Care, Psychology, or a foreign equivalent (validated by QQI).
- Passion for promoting and empowering those you support.
- Team player willing to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of New Directions regulations/standards and relevant legislation.
- Full driving licence and access to a car.
- Minimum of 1 year's post-qualification experience working with adults with intellectual disability.
- Experience working with people with complex needs in various situations.
- Experience dealing with responsive behavior in a positive manner.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Enthusiasm, energy, and creativity.
- Excellent personal and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent IT skills and report writing skills.
- Interest in community activities and supports.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and responsibly.
Salary Scale:
Successful candidates will be paid according to the HSE consolidated pay scales, based on required qualifications and relevant experience.
