Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Engineer/Lead to work on site supporting capital projects, delivering complex engineering designs and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
PM Group is a leading international engineering, architecture, project, and construction management firm with a network of offices across Europe, Asia, and the US.
This role involves technical leadership and engineering design for the Instrumentation and Control Engineering team, focusing on feasibility, outline, and detailed instrumentation and control design work.
The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary project engineering team, providing technical expertise and ensuring project deliverables comply with relevant design codes and legislation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Feasibility, outline, and detailed instrumentation and control design work, including I/O schedules, alarm schedules, cause and effect schedules, instrument index and data sheets, and more
- Technical checking of the team's work and management of Instrumentation and system integration vendors and subcontractors
- Project team leadership and ensuring project deliverables comply with relevant design codes and legislation
- Providing technical support for bid and proposal documents, as required
Required skills and qualifications include:
- Control and instrumentation specification and design experience, including fieldbus technology (Profibus DP and Modbus RTU) design knowledge
- Experience of reviewing vendor submittals and managing vendors/subcontractors
- Design experience for ATEX classified areas and functional safety specification and design experience
- A bachelor's degree in Instrumentation engineering or a similar engineering degree
- Proficiency in a Windows-based environment and software, including Word, PowerPoint, Project, advanced Excel, and Access
Desirable skills and qualifications include:
- Some experience of programming/configuration of PLC/DCS systems
- Good practical knowledge and design experience of LV cabling design for industrial applications
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Electrical
