Job Description

Vhi Insurance DAC have a full time permanent vacancy for the role of Insurance Risk Manager based in either Dublin or Kilkenny on a hybrid basis. This role will report directly to the Head of Insurance Risk. Role purpose Support the Head of Group and Insurance Risk and CRO in embedding the Group wide Risk Management Framework in the Vhi Insurance entities Work closely with colleagues in the Vhi Insurance entities to provide support and challenge on established risk management practices Lead out the maintenance of the entities risk registers in conjunction with the first line of defence Support the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, risk assessment and other risk management documentation related to the insurance business Assist in developing key risk indicators relevant to the insurance business Ensure there is alignment between Group Risk management practices and localised processes in place. Develop comprehensive training for the business and monitor its effectiveness. Manage and lead the Insurance Risk team, ensuring performance management, team development and achievement of agreed SLAs. Provide timely and relevant risk reports to the Board risk committees and Executive. Focus on continuous improvement and development of processes to support the business and improve efficiency and effectiveness within the Risk team. Develop and manage the Risk Monitoring Plan ensuring we meet the deadlines and objectives and escalating issue in a timely manner. Advise the business on how to apply the Risk Management Framework (including RCSA methodology and effective controls). Produce information for regulators. Manage the risk assessment of business change process and ensure SMEs contribute effectively to the assessments. Manage and contribute to change initiatives as specified by the Head of Group and Insurance Risk, including regulatory changes and enhancing our GRC System. Key Criteria Education & Knowledge Qualification in Risk Management or a related business discipline minimum degree level Five years plus experience in Risk Management with experience of insurance organisations or financial services preferred Proven experience of developing a positive risk culture and profile including development of monitoring plans and application of RCSA Proven experience of driving change and innovation on risk and business processes Proven track record of successfully managing and developing teams Demonstrates a good understanding of risk management frameworks and use of risk in decision making. Proven experience of successful engagement with internal and external stakeholders including regulators Skills and abilities Ability to express ideas in a clear & concise manner - verbally and in writing and to communicate and present with impact across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse & translate complex challenges or concepts into concrete actions & approaches Solution orientated with a continuous improvement and commercial mindset and ability to identify and influence change Self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables within tight timeframes Demonstrates strong leadership capability with ability to manage a team Demonstrate alignment with Vhi Values Vhi is an equal opportunties employer.
