Introduction One of our Clients at ProSource are looking for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established Tier 2 Main Building Contractor in Cork City. Responsibilities As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, your duties will include: Managing all aspects of cost control and procurement throughout the lifecycle of building projects. Preparing and reviewing tender documents, contracts, and procurement schedules. Conducting cost analysis, risk management, and value engineering on a range of building projects. Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and secure best pricing. Monitoring project budgets, preparing regular financial reports, and ensuring the projects stay within financial targets. Assessing variations and preparing payment applications and final accounts. Supporting senior management in the financial planning and commercial performance of projects. Requirements To be considered for this role, you will need: A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics 3-5 years of experience working in the construction industry, ideally with a main contractor. A solid understanding of Irish building regulations and construction contracts (e.g., RIAI, JCT). Proficiency with industry-standard software such as Buildsoft, Cubit, or similar. Strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and financial acumen. Ability to work autonomously while being a team player. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, subcontractors, and project teams. Full driving licence and flexibility to visit project sites within the Cork area.
