Internal Medicine Registrar Join Medforce Healthcare Medforce Healthcare is seeking highly skilled and motivated Internal Medicine Registrars to work alongside a team of Medical Consultants in delivering exceptional healthcare services across respected hospitals. This position offers a unique opportunity to support Consultants in their duties, provide high-quality medical care, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Internal Medicine Service. As an Internal Medicine Registrar with Medforce Healthcare, you will be at the forefront of patient care, working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your expertise is valued and your career growth is supported. Key Responsibilities: Patient Admissions: Actively participate in the admission of patients from the Emergency Department, ensuring a smooth and timely transition into the hospitals care system. Daily Ward Rounds: Attend daily ward rounds with the medical team, conducting thorough patient assessments and implementing care plans in collaboration with the Medical Consultants. Shift Handover: Take over patient care responsibilities from the previous shift Registrar, ensuring continuity of care. Immediate decisions should be made regarding patient care, with appropriate orders written to manage acute medical issues. Patient Monitoring & Review: Regularly review patients in accordance with the shifts care plan, keeping Consultants informed of any clinical changes, concerns, or urgent issues. Ensure timely intervention when necessary. Clinical Documentation: Accurately document all findings from patient reviews, ensuring clinical notes are comprehensive, timely, and legible. Maintain up-to-date patient records that reflect the latest clinical status. Quality Improvement & Risk Management: Actively contribute to hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives and risk management strategies. Participate in policy development to ensure that the Internal Medicine Service is operating at the highest standards, adhering to best practices, and reflecting cutting-edge medical care. Consultant Support: Provide comprehensive support to Consultants in their duties, including the diagnosis and treatment of patients, management of care plans, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Requirements: IMC Registration: Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) is required. Relevant Clinical Experience: Significant post-qualification experience in Internal Medicine or a closely related specialty is essential. Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring smooth collaboration with consultants, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals. Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on building relationships with patients, families, and medical staff. Proficiency in English is mandatory. Clinical Judgment & Decision Making: Strong clinical reasoning, with the ability to make timely and informed decisions under pressure. Time Management: Ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced clinical setting, ensuring all patient care and administrative duties are handled efficiently.
