FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for an International Business Manager with a proven background in the animal feeds division, This is a full-time permanent role and will be based between Ireland and the US. Our client is a leading player in the by-products animal feed industry, committed to sustainable practices and delivering high-quality feed solutions for farms across the North-East. They specialize in the utilization of by-products from our suppliers in the brewing, distilling and ethanol industries to create nutritionally balanced and cost-effective animal feeds. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Manager to join the team and lead the growth and management of by-products animal feed business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development, strategic planning, and team leadership. The role will be based in upstate New York. Regular US travel and occasional travel to Ireland will be required. This role reports to the Managing Director of the business. Duties Business Management Overall responsibility for our US business including full P&L responsibility. Delivering a first-class service to our brewery & distillery suppliers Developing an expanding network of farm customers by delivering value and exceptional customer service Have an absolute commitment to quality and meeting service level agreements and offtake / delivery commitments. Optimize operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with relevant feed safety regulations. Work closely with logistics teams to streamline supply chain processes. Develop close links with third party stakeholders such as farm advisors, etc. Business Development Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the market presence. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders. An ambition to drive the business forward through enhancing our reputation and presence in the market. Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities. Strategic Planning Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business goals and objectives. Collaborate with the executive team to formulate and execute long-term business strategies. Evaluate the feasibility of new products and services to enhance the company's portfolio. Financial Management Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis. Monitor financial metrics and implement cost-effective measures to ensure profitability. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, haulage contractors, and other business partners. Team Leadership Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, promoting professional development. Set clear expectations and goals, and regularly evaluate team performance. Candidate profile Bachelor's degree in business administration, agriculture, or a related field. MBA is a plus. Proven experience (8+ years) in business management, preferably in the animal feed or agribusiness industry. Strong understanding of the animal feed business environment across the North-East. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate and manage teams. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills. Commercial acumen and an ability to deliver on agreed budgets. Experience of succeeding in a fast-paced, challenging and exciting business environment.
