Job Title: Stock Controller

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our team at T J O'Mahony.

Job Purpose:

The Stock Controller will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory levels, managing stock movements, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular stock counts and audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of stock movements, including receipts, issues, and transfers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize stock levels, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve any issues related to defective or unacceptable goods.
  • Monitor and control stock levels, including managing special orders and negative stocks.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Work closely with the Group Stock Controller to achieve targets and improve overall stock management.
  • Coordinate and participate in stock takes and cycle counts as required.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate prices, place orders, and ensure timely delivery.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant knowledge of building materials and industry practices an advantage.
