Role Description The Software Asset Management Analyst is an individual contributor role responsible for software license compliance management. The person in this role will conduct detailed software usage and contract reviews by generating effective license position (ELP) reporting in ServiceNow SAMpro. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for identifying and actioning any remediation activities to assure compliance. Further, the Software Asset Management Analyst will be responsible for managing the strategic partnership between the internal Software Owner and ITAM team, supporting renewals, future strategy discussions, and demand planning. Role Objectives Analyzing software asset data and creating reports. Executing reconciliation by comparing entitlements with discovered software installations to determine effective license position for in-scope publishers. Analyzing reconciliation reports to determine required actions to address non-compliant software installations. Managing the remediation of non-compliant software installations. Updating software models, DMAP & suite inferences in ServiceNow SAMpro when applicable. Determining if available entitlements can be allocated prior to initiating procurement activities. Working with Software Asset Management team to publish authorized software in Service Catalogue for end-user request and subsequent fulfilment. Analyzing software usage reports and establishing removal rules for infrequently used software. Assisting with SAM audits. Collecting data and reporting on the effectiveness of the software asset management processes. Identifying requirements to modify SAM processes. Qualifications and Skills Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of experience with Software Asset Management. 3+ years of audit/compliance experience. Strong vendor management background. Experience in managing software publishers like Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, OpenText, SAP, VMware, Citrix, Red Hat, and Adobe. Experience and knowledge of the software lifecycle from licensing to purchasing to deployment and decommissioning. Proven experience/ITAM Certification in software asset management, IT asset management. Demonstrated in-depth understanding of Software Publishers EULAs and license Terms, software license entitlements, use rights for specified complex license agreements. Demonstrated experience in developing approaches to rationalize and optimize license entitlements across the enterprise. Professional certifications (i.e., CSAM, CITAM, CHAMP, CAMSE or equivalent). Deep understanding of ServiceNow SAMPro. Self-motivated, with excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of banking industry and/or applicable laws and regulatory requirements related to IT Asset Management. Experience with Software Asset Management tools, preferably ServiceNow SAM PRO. Experience with ServiceNow platform (Service Request, Contract and SAM functions). FinOps Certification.
