Job Description

Our Story Unum Technology Centre in Carlow serves as a strategic software development and IT services centre supporting Unum, a leading provider of income protection in the US. Our team of IT professionals build solutions and critical business applications to digitally transform the way we do business. The Role Lead & manage a Delivery team of software engineers, testers & business analysts (working with technologies such as Salesforce, MuleSoft, Mainframe & internal legacy applications) Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software projects. Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. Drive the team's adherence to Agile development methodologies. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources. Mentor and guide the development team, promoting a culture of excellence. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software engineering. Ensure the team has a well-defined backlog of valuable work. Lead and implement change, ensuring teams and stakeholders are well informed and aligned. Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring good alignment and effective partnerships. For Agile teams, help the product owner and team members to prioritize initiatives and sprint releases. Remove obstacles and roadblocks that impact the performance of the team. Use metrics and tools to understand team performance and efficiency; take actions to improve the efficiency of the team. Work with management to ensure strong and diverse talent is in place to meet business needs and goals. May serve in a Scrum or Kanban Master role. What You Offer 6+ years of experience in software engineering environment. 2+ years of experience leading and managing Agile software development projects. Strong experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban. Excellent leadership, technical project management, and mentorship skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Experience leading MuleSoft (or similar) Integration teams is a distinct advantage.
