Job Summary:

The Central Bank of Ireland seeks an experienced IT Internal Audit Lead to conduct complex IT audits, provide assurance on IT risk management, and contribute to the development of internal audit expertise.

About the Role:

  • Plan, lead, and undertake complex IT audits, following direction from the Audit Manager and reporting on outcomes within agreed timelines.
  • Prepare and review comprehensive working papers and draft detailed audit reports, ensuring alignment with best practice and international standards.
  • Contribute to the annual IT audit universe review and risk assessment, ensuring emerging risks and changes in the IT environment are addressed.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of colleagues during IT audit assignments, including on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Participate in close-out meetings, assess management responses, and report to local management on audit outcomes.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining effective internal and external relationships, including with auditees and ESCB counterparts.
  • Develop a detailed knowledge of IT and business areas being reviewed and share expertise with colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in internal auditing and/or accounting, with a third-level qualification in IT, accounting, business, or risk discipline an advantage.
  • IT audit-specific qualifications, such as CISA or CISM, highly desirable.
  • Membership of professional bodies, such as Chartered Accountants Ireland or the Institute of Internal Auditors, an indispensable condition of employment.
  • 3-5 years direct experience working in an internal IT audit division at a similar level, with strong technical knowledge of internal audit practices.
  • Practical application of IT audit tools and techniques, including data mining tools and security assessment tools, desirable.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of an IT Internal Audit Team, with strong stakeholder focus and excellent communication skills.
