About the Role: We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager/Business Analyst to oversee critical development projects for a key consulting client in Cork. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in application development who has transitioned into project management.

  • Project Management: Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of key IT development projects.
  • Project Initiation & Planning: Create project documentation, engage with sponsors, and develop initial project proposals and timelines.
  • Execution: Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver on project objectives, while managing detailed plans and requirements.
  • Monitoring & Control: Track resources, schedules, and budgets, addressing any issues, risks, and dependencies as they arise.
  • Project Closure: Ensure smooth handovers, prepare training materials, document lessons learned, and formally close projects.
  • Communication & Reporting: Prepare decision papers and status reports, presenting updates to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with stakeholders from executive leadership to frontline users to ensure project alignment.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow project managers while independently managing your own projects.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in IT development project delivery, excluding IT infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in gathering requirements, developing and refining User Stories, and managing full delivery lifecycles.
  • A background in application development with a transition to IT Project Management is highly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Methodology: Strong proficiency in Agile frameworks for IT delivery.
  • Public Sector: Experience with public sector projects is beneficial, but not mandatory.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Structured Query Languages (preferably PL/SQL, TSQL, or JQL).
  • Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., foreign keys).
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
  • Basic Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools, especially PowerBI.
  • Ability to develop professional PowerPoint presentations.
