IT Security Engineer
Our client, a Dublin City Centre based company, is seeking an IT Security Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The role will be working on a hybrid model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitor and enhance the organization's security infrastructure, ensuring alignment with recognized industry standards such as NIST, NIS2, ISO27001, and GDPR.
- Work closely with the IT Security Manager and IT Security Administrator to maintain and update all IT Security policies and procedures.
- Act as a member of the IT Security Incident Management Team, providing critical analysis and information on security incidents and alerts.
- Assist in partnering with service providers and internal teams to embed security into the design of technology projects managed by the IT department.
- Coordinate and oversee code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests with external service providers as necessary.
- Play a key role in the operational management of essential security platforms, including Palo Alto, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Intune, Purview, and Microsoft Entra.
- Regularly review security reports, identify unusual activity, and escalate any issues for further investigation by the team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Level 2 IT professional within an enterprise environment, with some exposure to IT security practices.
- Working knowledge of SIEM solutions and vulnerability management tools.
- Hands-on experience in a Microsoft enterprise environment.
- Ability to analyze security alerts, determine root causes, communicate findings effectively to relevant stakeholders.
- Strong documentation skills, appropriate for a regulated and audited environment.
- Critical problem-solving skills, particularly in securing infrastructure and bespoke applications.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and work autonomously.
- Experience thriving in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to process and act on large volumes of information quickly.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Essential and Desirable Skills:
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CYSA+, Microsoft Certified Security (e.g., SC900).
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, NIS2, and ISO 27001.
- Experience working with third-party IT service providers.
Education:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology.
