IT Support Engineer role involves providing technical assistance to clients, managing support requests, and ensuring proper ticket management and logging.
Main responsibilities include:
- Responding to support requests in a timely manner and ensuring proper ticket management and logging.
- Tracking and recording support delivery within Dynamics.
- Facilitating user onboarding and offboarding, including hardware provisioning.
- Participating in SOC monitoring and dealing with alerts.
- Testing and fixing faulty equipment.
- Managing and communicating with third-party vendors.
- Supporting client cloud environments and performing server, PC, and laptop setups and repairs.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining customer software and communications equipment.
- Supporting and delivering direct client training requirements on telephony projects.
- Undertaking relevant industry certifications.
- Supporting projects in areas such as exchange server decommissioning, Microsoft defender onboarding, domain controller upgrades, SOC/SIEM, VM Migrations, Cloudally Backups.
- Performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of the clients network environment and supporting material.
Essential skills include:
- Computer/IT degree.
- Minimum 12 months experience in a support role with use of Microsoft 365 (Share Point/Teams and Dynamics), Microsoft Azure, Windows OS, and Windows Server.
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills with ability to work with multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and applications.
- Strong analytical aptitude and logical reasoning ability.
- Proactive problem-solving experience, using judgement to make decisions where no clear precedent may exist.
Additional skills that are advantageous include:
- Experience with automating tasks via Linux scripting languages.
- Knowledge of security and virtualisation technologies, including Microsoft Defender, Intune & Sentinel, and Microsoft Entra AD, VMware, v Sphere, and v Center.
