About the role
The Information Technology Support Assistant will: As part of our Dublin IT Team, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the company's information technology hardware & software, including desktops, laptops, and network systems; deploying, installing, and maintaining electronic court reporting equipment and setting-up audio related equipment; managing users in the directory service; and testing, deploying, and managing company software.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Assist in maintaining computer systems by installing new hardware, modifying existing hardware including peripheral devices like printers, other equipment, and related network components.
- Providing support and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, software, and court reporting equipment to end users.
- Assists in the deployment of new desktops and laptops to end users.
- Setting up multiple audio-visual equipment within a time constraint.
- Perform installation, setup and testing of audio-visual equipment such as AV systems in accordance with the specifications provided. Ensuring all audio-visual equipment is in proper working order prior to each court session.
- Ensures optimal network and computer function as well as minimal downtime by conducting periodic diagnostics and testing of computers, networks, and electronic court reporting hardware, including microphones and sound mixers.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on audio-visual equipment.
- Knowledge of the different audio and video file formats and the tools and software required to convert between these formats. This includes importing, exporting, archiving, and managing records.
- Occasional local travel may be required outside of your daily operations
- Collaborates with other members of the IT Department and management to review and analyze hardware and software requirements; recommends appropriate changes.
- May need to liaise with court clerk from time to time for court reporting audio-visual setup.
Required Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and business applications.
- Strong technical knowledge of audio-visual equipment.
- Proficiency in setting up and operating audio-visual equipment for various settings, such as conferences, meetings, live hearings, and court hearings etc.
- Solid understanding of audio-visual connectivity, cabling, and signal flow.
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting computer USB audio mixers, microphones, and other court reporting-related audio equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-oriented mindset.
- Familiarity with different audio-visual software, control systems, and multimedia tools is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Native English speaker.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Former experience in computer maintenance and/or help desk support.
- Full Irish driving license ideal for occasional travel to the countryside and Belfast.
- Experience with ForTheRecord FTR Reporter - An Advantage.
Training will be provided on-site.
