Digitary is seeking a Java Developer to join its Ireland office

Digitary is a leading Higher Education solutions provider with offices in Melbourne, Dublin, and Vancouver, serving almost 200 Higher Education providers worldwide.

As a Java Developer, you will play a key role in developing cutting-edge distributed technologies and contributing to the company's growth story.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code
  • Work with the PM, BA, and Test team to deliver features according to an agreed plan and in line with an agile process
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Liaise with the support team in troubleshooting production issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 2 years of solid Java experience
  • Experience in designing and developing scalable web applications
  • Proficient working in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Expert in writing clean, robust, full stack code

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with RESTful API's and web application frameworks
  • Experience with Ebean ORM, Hibernate, JPA, SQL, and strong experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases
  • Comprehensive understanding of XML, JSON data structures
  • Implementing test-first design
  • Experience with continuous integration and build tools such as Maven and sbt
