Job Description

Jigsaw clinicians offer short-term therapeutic supports to young people aged 12-25 years with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This involves 1:1 work with the young person and sometimes includes other family members. Clinicians have diverse professional backgrounds and work as part of transdisciplinary teams based at one of our 15 services. They support young people's goals in a collaborative, respectful manner, drawing on their unique training, experience, and skills. Clinicians are also involved in health promotion, youth engagement, service development, and advocacy. They benefit from frequent clinical supervision and a comprehensive continuing professional development programme.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Undertake initial mental health assessments with young people, focusing on strengths and difficulties.

  • Provide evidence-informed brief, therapeutic interventions to young people.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management plans as appropriate.

  • Participate in clinical supervision and line management for support and guidance.

  • Work in accordance with Jigsaw Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines.

  • Liaise and consult with other professionals to support young people's mental health.

  • maintain accurate, confidential records of practice using the Jigsaw Data System.

  • Comply with reporting requirements and data protection regulations.

  • Contribute to research, audit, and evaluation of the service.



Requirements:


  • Qualifications in Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Psychotherapy.

  • Experience working in health and social care settings supporting people with mental health needs.

  • Experience working therapeutically with young people aged 12-25 years.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage a busy workload.

  • Capacity to work co-operatively as part of a team.
