Job Description

Jigsaw clinicians offer short-term therapeutic supports to young people aged 12-25 years with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This involves 1:1 work and sometimes family members, with clinicians from diverse backgrounds working in transdisciplinary teams. They support young people's goals in a collaborative, respectful, and evidence-informed manner, drawing on their unique training, experience, and skills. Clinicians are also involved in health promotion, youth engagement, service development, and advocacy.

Jigsaw is the National Centre for Youth Mental Health, established in 2006. We believe in intervening early with mental health difficulties, offering a therapeutic service at primary care level. Our network of Jigsaw services provides young people with a place or digital space for free, confidential support from mental health professionals. We aim to better inform, support, and empower communities to support young people's mental health.

Our youth mental health promotion work seeks to enhance community engagement and understanding of youth mental health. Youth voice is central to our work, involving young people in the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of our services.

The role involves undertaking mental health assessments, providing evidence-informed brief therapeutic interventions, conducting risk assessments, and participating in clinical supervision and line management. Clinicians will liaise with other professionals to support young people's mental health and maintain accurate, confidential records of practice.

We are seeking a qualified clinician with a doctorate or equivalent in Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychology, or a registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Psychotherapist. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people, delivering evidence-informed mental health interventions, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits include a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, a defined contribution pension scheme, 10% employer and 5% employee contribution, 10% discount on health insurance, 25 days annual leave, and a comprehensive annual CPD schedule.
